Memberships

What are my options for paying for my membership?

Most of our members prefer to pay on a biweekly or monthly basis directly from their chequing account (must be a Canadian account) Pre-authorized payments on credit cards or lines of credit is not an option that we provide.

What is included in my membership?

Each GoodLife membership offers members access to free weights and cardio equipment. Additional amenities such as towels, hot yoga, group fitness, tanning and access to additional clubs are available with certain membership options. Services and amenities vary by membership option and club chosen. To view all of the amenities, programs, and services available at each GoodLife location, please speak with an associate at your gym or visit the home page of the club location of your choice at www.goodlifefitness.com/locations. For information about your individual membership, please speak with an associate at your club.

Can I bring a friend with me on the Trial pass?

Your friends and family are more than welcome to come with you to try any of our gyms. Please ask them to fill out one of our free 3 day pass forms online.

I lost my membership key tag, how do I get a replacement?

You just need to bring photo identification to any gym location and we will be happy to replace your key tag at no charge.

Are towels included in my membership?

Members are able to add towels onto their memberships in gym locations where they are available. Please contact the gym of your choice for more information.

How can I update my payment information?

The best way to update your payment information is to bring a void cheque or Pre-Authorized Payment form from your financial institution to any gym location.

How do I put my membership on hold?

Please inquire at the front desk of your club about putting your membership on hold, or contact our Member Experience Department at 1-800-387-2524. The team is available Monday to Friday from 9am-6:30pm EST.

I am moving, how do I transfer my membership to another GoodLife location?

If you are moving to a new place, you have the option to switch your membership to a GoodLife gym near that new location. If there is no GoodLife Fitness within a reasonable distance, we offer the option for you to buy out the remainder of your Membership Agreement (if you are still in your commitment period) potentially giving you significant savings. 

How do I cancel my membership?

If you wish to cancel your membership, it is best to do so in writing. Please go into a club if possible to cancel your membership and retain your copy of the signed cancellation form. If you are not able to go into a club, please contact our Member Experience Department at 1-800-387-2524. The team is available Monday to Friday from 9am-6:30pm EST and they will direct you on how to cancel your membership. If you do need to cancel within the commitment period of your membership, you are able to buy out the remaining time on your membership for a fee.

How can I pay the outstanding balance on my membership or Personal Training agreement?

You are welcome to contact our Member Accounts Team at 1-800-678-3595 to make payments. The team is available Monday to Friday from 9am-6:30pm EST. You may also make payment on any outstanding balance at your local GoodLife gym location.

How do I cancel my Personal Training agreement?

Please contact the Fitness Manager at your club location to discuss this request.

I am a current Member and am eligible for a corporate membership program. How do I register for the corporate membership? What happens to my existing membership?

If you are eligible for a Corporate Membership through your place of employment, when you register for the membership, you will need to indicate that you are a current GoodLife member. If you indicate this on your registration, your membership will be canceled for you. To confirm that your company already has a partnership with GoodLife, please click here

Can I use Fit4Less by GoodLife with my GoodLife membership?

The Fit4Less by GoodLife Clubs are a separate brand of gyms that GoodLife owns and operates, so a GoodLife Membership will not allow access to the Fit4Less Clubs.

With my membership, am I able to use an Energie Cardio Club?

If you have an all club membership, you are able to use Energie Cardio clubs while visiting Quebec. Please bring your membership key tag and photo identification.

With my membership, am I able to use a 24 Hour Fitness Club?

GoodLife members have access to 450+ 24 Hour Fitness Clubs in the United States - goodlifefitness.com/24-hour-fitness.

How can I get a trial pass?

It is fantastic to hear you are looking to incorporate fitness into your life. Thank you for choosing GoodLife to help you achieve your fitness goals. Please feel free to take advantage of our free 3 day pass, or a 14 day pass for only $14. For all pricing information we do ask you visit your local GoodLife location and speak with a Fitness Advisor to find the membership option that is right for you.

Can I bring a friend with me on the trial pass?

How old do I have to be to work out at GoodLife?

The minimum age to work out at GoodLife is 12-years-old. We require a parent or guardian’s signature for anyone under the age of majority in each province. In addition, we encourage all members to get started on the right programming and those under 16 are required to participate in our Starter Program which includes multiple appointments on different topics to help them get comfortable in the gym.

Do you have a dress code at the gyms?

Gym Floor - For your health and safety, we ask that you wear appropriate exercise clothing that is respectable in nature as well as proper indoor athletic footwear.

Winter Season – We ask that you remove all outdoor footwear when you enter the gym for cleanliness and safety reasons. Disposable booties are provided if needed.

Pool, whirlpool and Co-Ed Steam Rooms– Proper bathing attire is required, and members must shower before entering a pool or spa.

How do I find out the Group Fitness class schedules?

Group Fitness class schedules are available on our gym pages. Information on all of our gym locations is easily accessible on our find a Gym page. Enter your city or postal code to get started. What is Teen Fitness?

Our free Teen Fitness Program gives teens between the ages of 12-17 complimentary access to GoodLife Fitness gyms across the country in July and August each year. For more information: teenfitness.ca.

How do I make a ‘Donation’ request?

Select ‘Contact Us’ located at the bottom of the home page. Select ‘Member/Guest’; Insert your location information, and then select ‘Donation Request’ from the drop-down and complete the designated form. This form is for the request of Complimentary Memberships and GoodLife Fitness swag only and does not include financial contributions (eg. t-shirts, water bottles, gym bags, etc.). Due to the large volume of requests, we require a minimum of 4-6 weeks advanced notice.

How do I make a sponsorship request from GoodLife?

Select ‘Contact Us’ located at the bottom of the home page. Select ‘Member/Guest’; Insert your location information, and then select ‘Event/Sponsorship Request’ from the final drop-down and complete the designated form. Due to the large volume of requests, we require a minimum of 4-6 months in advance notice.

I would like to take photos and/or videos in the club, what are the rules?

If this is a professional or media request, please send your requests to mediarelations@goodlifefitness.com. If you are a member, guest or associate and would like to take photos or videos in one of our gyms for personal reasons, please goodlifefitness.com/getting-started/club-rules for more information.

What do I bring to the gym?

Pack your gym bag with the following items to have a successful first visit and a great experience every time:

  • A lock to keep your belongings safe (we recommend that you do not bring any items of value to the club, if possible).
  • A workout towel to wipe down the equipment after use. Paper towels are also provided.
  • A water bottle
  • Workout clothes & appropriate gym shoes.

Did you receive your copy of the ‘Living the Good Life’ book and GoodLife gym bag?

All members should receive our iconic GoodLife gym bag and a copy of ‘Living the Good Life’ book upon joining. Please see the front desk at your club for more details.

I am new to GoodLife. Where do I begin?

From the first day of your membership, our goal is to make you feel welcome, comfortable and confident. We have many introductory starter programs that will help you identify the workouts that you prefer and those that are best suited to help you achieve your health, fitness and wellness goals. Be sure to check out our GoodLife Starter Program options or ask any of the team members at your gym for more information.

Where do I find the gym hours?

To find gym hours, please visit our Find a Gym page, and select the gym location of your choice. Our holiday hours are also posted on the website one week prior to any upcoming holidays.

What are the different membership options?

Each GoodLife membership offers members access to free weights and cardio equipment. How do I bring a friend to work out?

A great way to stick with your fitness program is to work out with a friend. We invite you to bring in your friends for a complimentary workout on their first visit to GoodLife. Please book an appointment in advance, or a guest fee will apply. Our club phone numbers are listed on our website here. They can also sign up for a 3 visit pass here

How do I find GoodLife Fitness gym location information?

How do I file a report about a broken machine or issues with my club facility?

All of our equipment has a QR code on it. If you scan the code you are able to report any issues directly to our Club Services Department. Please also let an associate know of any issues, so that equipment can be taken out of service for repair if needed.

Do you have WiFi at my Gym?

No, at this time we do not have WiFi in our gyms.

You provide a child minding service (Junior Up-and-Coming Member Program - JUMP!). How is that different from day care?

Since we are not a daycare, it is very important that the parent/legal guardian remains in the gym at all times. The only exception to this is in the Superstore/Loblaw locations where you can shop for groceries while we watch your children. Children must be between the ages of 6 weeks to 12-years-old. There is a two-hour time limit for members to use this service.

Neighbourhood Clubs

What is a GoodLife Fitness Neighbourhood Gym?

GoodLife Fitness Neighbourhood Gyms can be found in small towns and urban communities across Canada. These smaller Clubs are open 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week, for their members’ convenience; however, they are not staffed the entire time. Each location boasts enough fitness equipment to serve the neighbourhood in an inviting atmosphere. They also have many services and amenities that will propel you to success in a fun and friendly manner.

Neighbourhood Gym Access

Members over the age of 18-years-of-age have full access to the Neighbourhood gyms with their Membership card when the club is not staffed. Members under that age can only access the gym during staffed hours, and only accompanied by their Parent or Legal Guardian who is a GoodLife Fitness member.

If I’m an existing GoodLife Member, how can I gain access to my local Neighbourhood Gym?

All existing GoodLife members should email their primary GoodLife to verify membership type and determine if they have access. The GoodLife Associates will then book a time with you to have your GoodLife Membership card added to the Neighbourhood gym access system.

If I am an existing Member with access to all GoodLife Clubs, why do I have to activate my card to gain access to my local Neighbourhood Club?

The Neighbourhood Clubs use RFID technology for Membership access into the Club. All existing GoodLife members must have their current GoodLife Membership card added to the access system to have access to the gym during unstaffed hours. In order to do this, please visit the gym during staffed hours.

How will I know when the General Manager is working if I need to book an appointment?

The General Manager will update their schedule on the gym’s Facebook page or the member or potential member can email or call the General Manager. Additionally, the schedule will be posted inside the gym and on the GoodLife website each week.

Do Neighbourhood gyms have orientations?

Yes, our Neighbourhood gyms have orientations run a few times a week by the General Manager. Please visit the location during staffed hours or send an email to the gym to book a time for your orientation.

If someone is between the age of 12 and 17, can they join?

No, someone who is between the age of 12 and 17 may not join the GoodLife Neighbourhood Gyms. However, please see below for some exceptions.

  • Youth between the age of 12 and 17 can work out at the gym as a guest accompanied by their parent or guardian who is a member over the age of 18 when the gym is staffed.
  • If a current member from a regular GoodLife location who is under the age of 18 want to workout at a local Neighbourhood gym, their access will be limited to when the gym is staffed.
  • No one under the age of 12 can be in the gym at any time.

How will Group Fitness operate?

Virtual Fitness classes will be offered as part of your Membership.

What is Virtual Fitness?

Virtual Fitness means that any member can come to the gym and use the Fitness Studio when it is not in use. Simply load a Virtual Fitness class from the computer system to the screen and follow. There is no live instructor.

How will Personal Training operate?

Certified local Personal Trainers will offer their services at the gym at an additional cost. Please contact your local Neighbourhood gym for further information on rates and availability.

Can I bring a friend with me to the Neighbourhood gym?

Yes, you can bring a friend with you to the gym but only during staffed hours. They will need to sign a waiver and pay the $15 Guest Pass fee.

What can a Member do if they have an issue at the gym during unstaffed hours?

Signage will be posted in the gym indicating what you are to do in case of emergency. For any non-urgent issues, you can book an appointment with the General Manager.

GoodLife4Kids School Program
The GoodLife4Kids School Program partners with grade 4 teachers to teach fitness skills at school. Together, GoodLife4Kids Coaches and their partner teachers introduce the basics of yoga, dance and fitness to students in order to inspire a lifelong love of fitness!  This program is offered to partner school at no cost as a result of annual funds raised at Spin4Kids events across the country.
